Awesome way to end...

... just like your first one did. Very curious to see where you will go now. :D

TommyUlysesGrant responds:

Me too.

Very Calm

I like how a lot of your music sounds very Eastern, like from another culture, its very refreshing. Not that I don't like your more western sounding, fantastic music, but this is the sort of music that sends your imagination places you've never been before... its a good feeling. :D

TommyUlysesGrant responds:

Yeah. Well alot of the eastern music is more hmmm, more mystical. an that is what the album is meant to be.

I love your piano songs

Probably my favorite of all the songs you do. You manage to make them so... hauntingly majestic. I like it. :3

Keep up the good work!!

TommyUlysesGrant responds:

I'll Try

Not my favorite LnD piece...

But I definitely like it. I've missed the darker, almost sinister sounding songs in Light and Dark. This was definitely a cool style to try out, I like where its going but the opening was a little weak. However, any weakness there was has been made up in the vocals. Love it a lot. I definitely wouldn't mind another song like this, I'd like to see what another one would be like after polishing out some of the kinks.

However, on the note that DXsamurai... I must be musically retarded because this definitely isn't what comes to mind when I hear the word classical. Can you maybe explain?

TommyUlysesGrant responds:

Yeah I have been listening to A LOT of metallica, and led zeplin of the late... what. even so if i am a classical composer, I still love the rock. but as a was saying, I really wanted to get a good mixture of my favorite genre in, so I made this.
it is like part, new wave, part classical, part rock...

A tad short...

... but then again, its almost a rule in any medium that if you get your audience begging for more, its a sign of success. Although, this seems to cut off at the end... a little weird. Otherwise very good, and I love the bit of an almost Asian twist you put on your music sometimes.

TommyUlysesGrant responds:

I'm sorry.

I forgot to say it in the comments.

This is actually a two part song. But I really didn't like the end so I cut it out.

sorry man. I should have told you. :(

Thank you very much for the comment. seeya round.

Caught me off guard at first

But proved to be just as epic as the last, just in another way. Your music seems to ebb between being really hard and epic, and being a certain kind of sweet mystic melody. And I have to say, I think I appreciate both equally. Very nice. A+

TommyUlysesGrant responds:

I try and keep an open mind.

It all depends on what i'm feeling during production, and that shows through my music...

The best type of classical music is that kind that tells a story. and that apply's to all music...

and that best thing about it is that the story can be your own.

Wow...

I've listened to less than half of this by the time I wrote this review, and I can already tell its awesome. Seriously, no words to really describe it: this puts the first Light and Dark to /shame/ and I considered those 11 songs to be some of the best pieces of classical styled music I'd ever heard, as they're arranged in the only playlist on my Zune.

This is epic, and tear jerking, and I wonder why they didn't call you when Peter Jackson made LOTR. This would have been awesome. XD

TommyUlysesGrant responds:

I am humbled by you're kind words...

in the very near future I hope to have my music in movies.
as soon as I'm done with collage

If I may kind of use the last guy's review....

... as sort of a springboard for a mildly more useful review. I love it, its very good, but I absolutely /haaaaAAAAaaaaaAAAAaaaaate/ this song due to memories associated with it and... well, because its just not my style (cites the classical and techno music which fills the bulk of my collection).

Either way I downloaded it, so I guess thats a good sign, eh?

TommyUlysesGrant responds:

Well it is all your opinion. Thanks for the review man.

I agree with the guy below

Its a really good song, but when I first heard the tempo kick in my heart kinda sunk. HOWEVER, its probably one of the better happy hardcore song's I've listened to. Your techno is very unique, and it shines through that even though techno isn't your primary medium, you're still an accomplished composer.

~thumbs up~

TommyUlysesGrant responds:

Well I hope so. It is my profession. :O

Thank you.

Now this is a good techno song...

I saw you said to someone else that this was based off a game's theme or something... it sorta shows. But, actually, what comes to mind is old anime shows for some reason. Like, I imagine this being set to a fight scene if Mega Man was ever made into a move or something, it just screams Japanese Fighting Robots for me XD

Great song, I love it. Its a bit repetitive but such is the nature of the business.

(If I ever get into game design and do some sort of retrophile tribute to games past, I'm givin you a call for the soundtrack)

TommyUlysesGrant responds:

Well then I hope you do then.

Thank you once again.
