I would honestly have to say Windwaker was one of my favorite games, to me it comes just a little short of Ocarina of Time just because its a little short and a little too easy to figure out.

Awesome song. Good redo... its not picture perfect, but adds a charm to the original song for sure.

you have no idea how hard the flute was.

I think you would know this though, was the original synthesized?

OMFG

Wait, /YOU/ sung this? o__O

I was thinking for a moment, "Damn, where did he get the vocals for this?!" and then I saw you sang it.

I think the 10/10 stands for what I thought about it, so I won't get too gushy about my review, except to say this is probably going to end up on my fav songs of all time. Rufus Wainwright can /suck it/. And I /loooooved/ his version. Yours has a much more exquisite charm.

TommyUlysesGrant responds:

Tjhank you very much. I hope to have more vocals out soon.

The good, bad, and the ugly...

Well, I have to admit this is a pretty kick ass song.

But, I'm also going to be completely honest, its not exactly the best thing you've ever done.

I admit that I think for your next album, techno might be a good idea. You seem to have a good grasp of it. However, this does /not/ belong in the "Light and Dark" series. I don't know who talked you into it (I saw below you said a "friend" told you to mix it up....) but I think that was a bad idea. "Light and Dark" stood as a really, really good set of classical styled music. This sort of throws it out the window.

The only reason I would approve is that it shows you took my advice and are starting to branch out. Which is good.

Also, /as a song itself/, and not considering the "Light and Dark" thing, its fairly decent techno. Not the best. I like it, and I'd probably download it in a couple days here. However, to me, I think the reason I like it is because it gives me the feeling of a video game boss track. I could see a kick ass boss fight set to this.

And I don't know if others, who aren't old school gamers, would feel the same.

ALL IN ALL, you're still one of the most brilliant musicians on here and I love all of your "Light and Dark" series, even this (just not as a L&D piece). I just think its a little lacking, but thats why we try new things I guess. Thumbs up and I look forward to more.

TommyUlysesGrant responds:

Well I agree completely.

Thank you for the review.

Your Light and Dark series is amazing

I think I have... part 2 on my mp3 player actually.

I think it would be fair to tell you that, as a future game designer, I look at music and art in general as inspiration for characters, events, and plot, etc. I have to say, most of your music (if someone could make it loop) would make fantastic score for a lot of stuff especially in the fantasy genre. Eg, That's why I wanted to use that one song in my N3R0 video.

This is fantastic. Its epic, and you communicate light and dark perfectly but, even moreso, you communicate the struggle (and or harmony, as it seems ironically so in your pieces) between them.

~thumbs up~

the whole point of my music is to express different natural feeling we all share. and through this way. I hope to change the way we look at music.

ACK~!

It sounds pretty good, but I get lost in the conflicting sounds. You sound a little like you were trying to mix three different songs together, and each one is fighting to be the dominant song.

Also, I would highly recommend that when you make techno like this, you keep the strength you had at the beginning, because that was beautiful.... but then you lost it.

Good luck!

Wish it was longer!!

This is such a great song, but right when it starts getting good and I lose myself in it.... its over.

Good stuff tho.

DanceNation responds:

darn... yea, it is too short, but.. cant change it now... :(
